Description

Presented by: Clare Gleghorn, CEO, Bastion Reputation

Crisis communications and reputation management is never a simple game of checkers. It’s a strategic and sometimes drawn-out game of chess. There are some very basic rules that you must abide by to survive a crisis or major reputational issue. But beyond that, being able to advise and counsel anxious business leaders during one of the most stressful times in their lives requires strategic nous, agility, the right temperament, and creative flair.

The following proposed three-part training webinar has been commissioned by IABC Global Learning. It is designed for communications professionals wanting to increase their knowledge, skills, and understanding of crisis communications and reputation management.

Each module of the three-part series is designed to build on the foundations of the last, building not only a broad understanding of the skills, techniques, processes, and best practices in crisis communications leadership and support, but also building a deeper strategic toolkit from which to draw when called up to support crisis or major issue.

It is grounded in contemporary crisis communications practice and embeds digital technology and communications considerations.

This Master Class is excellent. It is very well structured and thorough, offering lots of practical information on how to make a clear distinction between risks, issues, and crises, and how to make sure that your team is prepared for a crisis. In addition, it provides a very useful 15-minute crisis tool kit (including guidelines on how to assemble the right response team and how to write a holding statement), as well as a template for a crisis communications plan. The instructor also shares tips on how to manage yourself and others during the crisis and goes over the push and pull communications that one can employ when responding. At last, but not least, she touches on reputation recovery planning, giving quite a few real-life examples.

Excellent content packed into the three modules and I've gone from having only a basic understanding of crisis communications to having a number of tools and principles to work by.
