In times of crisis, we look to our organizations to support and protect us. When instead the organization communicates poorly or causes us to question whether its values align with our own, that can create lasting rifts in trust. Unfortunately, successful communication in a crisis is not always easy. This session, based on research on trauma and more than 25 years’ experience working with victims, provides the tools and practical advice you need to communicate effectively with those in trauma, while protecting yourself from vicarious stress and not running afoul of legal obligations.
